So, other than the obvious, St. John's Wort, any suggestions for some herbal therapy for depression?
This is a mild level of depression, but more chronic then "o crap, my girlfriend left me/dog died."
However, it may be too mild to be medicated with typical pharms such as Zoloft, and in any case, my friend would rather not take a handful of pills every day. He already deals with prescription migraine meds.

You should probably know that St. John's Wort gives some people headaches/migraines, so for someone who is already a headache sufferer, it may not be the best choice. Having said that, it did help me the few times I have tried it, and I didn't seem to have any more headaches than usual.
Getting enough and the right kind of light helps a lot of people. Either getting outside more often, or getting a full spectrum lamp may help.
Kombucha (see the tribe entitled "Kombucha Tea") is said to lift ones mood when used regularly. I can't tell if it works for me, as I am too uneven in drinking it.
